Australian GP's result still to be decided as Haas lodges protest

After a chaotic end to the 2023 Australian GP, only the provisional results were released as there were still situations to be cleared and revised.

It now became official that Haas has lodged a protest regarding the final standings of the race.

After Kevin Magnussen hit the wall at the exit of turn 2, the safety car was deployed, and after that, the red flag was shown. As there were only two laps left, everyone took more risks at the restart, and many crashes happened, resulting in another red flag and in only 12 cars finishing the race.

It took some time to the FIA to decide what to do, and the final decision was to reinstate the previous positions before the chaos. Therefore, Nico Hulkenberg, who managed to get up to P4 after the start, dropped back to P7.

The team was not happy with what happened, and lodged a protest after visiting the stewards at 7:30 pm local time.

Could we see the first Hulkenberg's podium since Carlos Sainz, who was third, received a penalty? More to follow on the website.
